Sources and methodology
About the data
SanaHolidayNaUlit is a lightweight Philippine holiday reference we built for ourselves and for everyone else trying to plan a break — quick countdowns, this year's holiday list, and the exact leave day to file for the next long weekend.
Where dates come from
Dates come from the current proclamation-year dataset for the Philippines. When a safe API is configured at build time, the site pulls holiday data from the backend. Otherwise the static build falls back to the bundled official data.
The footer links to the Official Gazette nationwide holidays page if you want to double-check the primary government reference. Per-holiday proclamation notes are deferred for now — this page carries the source methodology instead of repeating it on every holiday page.
Timezone handling
Dates and countdowns run on Philippine Standard Time, Asia/Manila (UTC+8). Holidays are civil dates in the Philippines, so each one starts at midnight PHT — even if you're viewing from a different timezone.
Holiday labels
Status labels show whether a date is official, pending, or still to be announced. Special working holidays are listed for reference but kept out of long-weekend calculations, since they aren't days off by default.
